Well, none of what I state is 100% factual. They are general and typical in nature. I just got lazy in writing it as a disclaimer before each sentence. Thought it was inferred after a while.

As to research well I've spent a few years overlanding including from Alaska to Chile, from Norway to South Africa, and a good chunk across Asia. In addition have spent most of the last 25 year living and working in countries across four continents and along with my spouse have picked up a few citizenships. So sample size is probably a few thousand from people all over world.
Cool. I will take your posts as “more informed than the typical.” I asked because I’m one who is starting this consideration late in life. I have traveled a fair amount, but have lived in the US since age 8.
Based on the history of your posts if it was something you and your spouse (when they stop working) were considering I'd probably be looking at spending the majority of the year in the USA and then up to 3-6 months at a home base in either Europe, Australia or New Zealand. Likely any stay would be limited to 3 months. Clearly you enjoy living in your home in the USA and I wouldn't give that up. Of course if you split your time you don't get any fancy moniker like "perpetual traveler" or "nomad" or "expat" but I think you'd get a much better balance and quality out of your time abroad. And at your NW maintaining a home while abroad isn't really going to be an issue.
