1) Call them up and they should take care of it.
2) If their manager doesn't, and plays hardball, send them a written letter, including your proof (credit on sales receipt) by certified letter.
3) Shortly after 2, proceed to a credit card chargeback. Do note the time limit on credit card chargebacks. You might need to call them up sooner rather than later.
4) If the CC company doesn't go to bat for you, then proceed to small claims court

If the company doesn't do the right thing in step 1, then share your experience on google maps reviews, and on yelp. You'd also want to tell your school's orchestra/band director and/or private lesson teacher, so they're aware that this company won't do the right thing by its customers.

I'd be shocked if the shop doesn't immediately work to fix this when you call them up. Reputable music companies will do the right thing, and the music community is a small one so they really can't survive if they have scummy business practices. A lot of their low end business starts with word-of-mouth from teachers, and their intermediate/advanced instruments purchases are often reviewed and vetted by private music teachers. Even in large cities, the music community is really quite small.
