I am reviving this thread as I am about to move from Chase over to either Fidelity or Vanguard (any advice on which one or if it matters would be appreciated).
Here's my financial profile and thoughts on establishing a three fund portfolio, and how it's allocated, would be helpful:
Emergency Fund: $15k in Checking (Chase)
$85k in HYSA (Maybe in VSUXX)
Debt: None
Tax Filing Status: Single
Currently Unemployed: Previous salary was 65k annually
* $855k in proceeds of house sale
- Would like to invest $200k as of now
- Thinking of putting the rest of $550k in VSUXX for the time being as not sure about future home purchase or investments
State of Residence: California, possibly Oregon in the near future
Age: 50
Retirement Age: between 60-62
* Thinking of international retirement; anyone currently moved internationally for retirement I would love to hear your insight?
Desired Asset Allocation: 70/30
Desired International Allocation: 20%
** Asset Allocation is open to advice in current economic climate. As well as different fund choices. I would like to keep it fairly simple as I am not someone seasoned in finance, I just want to avoid the high management cost that I am currently paying.
Rough Draft of potential Three Fund Portfolio: 70% Equity/30% Fixed Income
•Equity:
⁃50% VTI
⁃20% VTIAX
•Fixed Income:
⁃30% BND
Current Investments = $537, 827
Managed by Chase in a 60/40 allocation at management fee of 1.45% of total asset value (uggh)
I would like to begin this three fund portfolio through Vanguard or Fidelity and would need to transfer current investments over.
Taxable Investments: $254,218 = 47%
Equity: 55.9%
Fixed Income & Cash: 44.1%
403b: $11,000 = 2%
Not sure of allocation as sitting in an old work account
Trad IRA: $229,216 = 42%
Equity: 75.9%
Fixed Income & Cash: 24.1%
Roth IRA: $43,391= 8%
Equity: 75.8%
Fixed Income & Cash: 24.2%
