Just want to reiterate what many others have said on this thread about the "18% promised returns" being peddled by one of those firms that was pushed your way. There couldn't be a bigger glaring "NO" sign coming to you even if it was a 40ft high and in neon on that.
When your investment egg becomes significant enough to put you in the UHNW category, in my opinion that is time you can choose to be significantly more conservative with your asset allocation. Putting a large percentage of that in fixed income products will still likely accrue gains to you since you won't be able to spend at levels that even lower investment returns will provide.
