I don't know why anymore than I know where the markets are heading next. I don't ask myself either of those questions, and I pay no attention to pundits who offer answers.

I always expect a reversion to the mean. That's one reason for rebalancing, if needed every few years, to maintain one's chosen AA. The fact that international is at long last outperforming U.S. just this year stills leaves me a long ways away from triggering a rebalance band.
