It's interesting to see people suggesting investing conservatively, because 'you don't need the money'. In my personal experience, getting to where we don't need all the money (not UHNW, certainly, but oversaved in 401k) is what lets me be more comfortable with risk. I don't need to do 60/40 or whatever.
Index funds are nice, but I like the roller-coaster ride of actively managed funds (e.g. FBGRX). If I had a few extra zeroes, I would be doing far more risky things such as venture capital. It is people who have less who need to be more conservative.
(This is not to be interpreted as saying the OP should go for the 18% commitment. Risk is one thing, but that is not a risk, it is a guaranteed scam.)
