Per Mac Rumors, the 15" MacBook Air is about 120 days away from a refresh. If they make 512 gb the default at the same $1200 I will be tempted though I have an M1 MBA purchased a couple of months after launch and is still at 85% battery health. Every time I use an older laptop for Roon 15" is so nice, and that's on a 1080p screen, the MBAs are even higher resolution.
My M2 macbook air is a great machine. Only mistake was in Getting the 13”. I didn’t realize that new ones were coming in Fall.
Macrumors is nowhere near that accurate. Looking at their Buyer’s guide, it might look like a new MacBook Air line is due in 120 days, it really means “based on the AVERAGE number of days between refreshes in the past, there will likely be a new refresh in about 120 days.” There’s a pretty wide variance in Apple’s MacBook release dates, it’s not like the iPhones that get updated every year in September like clockwork. In fact, recent rumors pointed to the M5 MacBooks possibly being delayed until early 2026.
