Sounds better than the French "L'art du crime" (2017) which also featured the nerdy angle of history/provenance/forgery (including hallucinations with ancient artists), but it turned into a badly done romantic comedy. Good that the Brits did it better. The Art Detectives - Acorn
We are watching the first season of a new mystery series. On the surface, this is your generic British murder mystery series - but the interesting part is that lead DI is from the "Heritage Crime Unit" which seems to be focused on crimes pertaining to art and artifacts. The DI is a bit of a nerd, quite intellectual and knowledgeable about art -- so the fun part is when he kind of provides information dumps about specific paintings or artifacts, such as their history/provenance or in some cases, maybe forgery. The character development/plots are a little formulaic, but we really enjoy the different context and the characters are starting to grow on us.
