But also understand that these days, EV values drop like rocks, so say you lease it for 3 years. You may be able to pick up the same 3 year old car for 40% of it's original price.
I hear this a lot, but I have a hard time finding these supposed rock-bottom priced used EVs. I'm really to snatch up one, but they must be hidden somewhere.
A lot of the car guy video makers have bought EVs and documented what they paid and what they sold for. One in particular, Craig from Flying Wheels bought an e Tron GT for about $100k. After a year and a half, he tried selling it at his dealership in New Hampshire, at auction, on line and I believe he even brought it to his new home in Florida and tried the auctions there. He completely failed and ended up getting (from memory) $50k for it.

He also paid over $100k for a Cybertruck and sold it for under $80k less than a year old.

Hoovie bought several used EVs. Some of the prices are not completely known as he traded his Cybertruck very fast as he could see the depreciation brick about to hit. He got a Cadillac Lyric and some money. I believe he later sold it. I guess I'd say to search his videos if you want to see what he paid/sold for.

Benz and Bow Ties is a Mercedes dealer and youtube maker. Every single negative equity customer trading is guided to lease an EQS, which is why I point to it. These are Mercedes incentivized leases as they just can't sell these things. I seem to remember Hoovie getting one of these too. I wasn't interested so didn't watch that one.

Part of finding the deals is to watch some of these guys who follow the car market. One I found interesting in the spring was a Fiat EV lease deal that with incentives and Colorado rebates was zero a month for 3 years with no up front cost. Sales tax is all that was paid. Several channels talked about this and several youtubers did the lease. You had to live in Colorado to get this, however.

There was an Audi RS e Tron GT lease deal early in the year that Ed Bolian of VinWiki talked about and he leased one for very cheap.
