Hackers do go after MacOS deployments, but Apple's built-in measures are pretty good. Good security practices are important, though. The usual: don't click on unfamiliar messages, keep your confidential documents (and passwords) in encrypted storages, etc. You might want to have Geek Squad enable whole-disk encryption on the Air.
