Second question first, fidelity does give a separate 1099 for each account.
First question. Fidelity doesn’t seem to have a hold before allowing transfers out after internal transfers but my process is to make the transfer to my scratch account, wait a couple of days until the basis info shows, print out the lot info, and then initiate the transfer to the new broker. This process has worked several times and ensures that the right lots are transferred.
Btw, to do the internal fidelity transfer of specific lots between accounts, you have to call in rather than online.
I could have sworn i sent a form online the last time I had a transfer internally in Fidelity but maybe I am misremembering and its only by phone. Thanks for the suggestions.
