For whatever it's worth, the numbers I provided are conservative....I estimated income potential on the low side and expenses on the high side.The rough numbers suggest your portfolio can provide about $60K a year. You need (including taxes I presume) $84K and you say you can earn $20-40K. So yes, I think you're there. Barely. Not sure I'd be totally comfortable having just barely enough, so I guess it depends on how much you hate your job. This is classic "one more year" terrain. Hard decision. I don't envy you.
