Wow- that’s not my experience with Amazon customer service over dozens of interactions over the past several years. I find them easy to get hold of, friendly and knowledgeable. Like others, I think your line of attack should be with the card issuer.
Also- I’m a long time prime member and think it’s a fabulous benefit and well managed. I’ve never been defaulted to paying for more expensive shipping.
