Rent for HUD subsidized housing is based on the renter's income. I think the requirement is that the renter meets age requirement, and is expected to pay 30% of income for rent and utilities. HUD then makes up the difference between that payment amount and fair market rent value.Good Lord. Where does one find senior housing for <$100/mo?
As recently as 2021 I had an elderly relative that was paying about $340/month for rent. Their only income was social security.
