I read through the testing of fidelity thread. It appears that ACATS are blocked but externally initiated ACH is not.I initiated an ACATS out of Fidelity to e-trade from the e-trade side. E-Trade called me to tell me it failed because Fidelity had denied the transfer. I had read here that I didn't need to turn Money Transfer Lockdown off for an ACAT. I think at one time ACAT were excluded from the Lockdown feature but I believe that must have changed in the last year or so. I had to turn it off for the E-trade transfer to go through. Can’t read the article. How did the transfer happen? Did they have access to the vanguard account at all? I feel one mitigation would be to freeze your credits to prevent the account from being created.
I was under the impression that fidelity money lock only prevent transfer initiated from Fidelity. It doesn’t prevent all transfer out.
