Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Do I need to update name on my Vanguard trust?

Thank you everyone for your responses! It sounds like I probably don't need to worry about the discrepancy in the date used in my Vanguard trust account name versus the name of my actual trust. Although at some point I should probably confirm with an attorney.

I suspect it will cost a lot less to change the name versus getting an attorney's opinion.

I agree. Plus it will be easier for a future trustee to be recognized as the trustee. If you become incapacitated, your future trustee will have enough to do without having to fix something that you can do easily right now. If you chose a relative to act on your behalf for free, don't burden him/her with extra problems.
