A TIPS used to fund a nominal liability takes significant disinflation risk. TIPS are low risk when matched to real liabilities.
What type of future liabilities would I have besides real ones?
I have no way of knowing what your future consumption looks like, but most retirees have consumption that divides into a nominal bucket, a real bucket, and an idiosyncratic bucket.
