My rule is that I have no rules.
Several years ago I was ready to sell a VW because it was costing significant $ to maintain. I bought a Toyota and have had it for about the same length of time and the same miles as the VW. So far it's been trouble-free. So I'm not looking to change right now. This could change if I see something I like more.

Well I guess I do have one rule. I don't buy used because (1) I don't wanna and (2) I don't hafta.But the number one rule never changes, never buy new, why buy something that depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot, let somebody else throw their money away!
