For the record, my first Roth contribution was 3 days ago Oct 4th. $5800 from cash to the precious metals split evenly between AG and GLD etf’s. I know my annual limit for contributions is 8k. 5800 finishes off my limit this year because the other part I had put in traditional IRA’s earlier this year.
To now realize Oct 4th is the start of the 5 year clock for all future contributions and conversions for all accounts changes my perspective on that part anyway.
Damn, I sure wish I had at least one allowable withdrawal left for 2025. Oh well, live and learn
