I think you meant that the criteria included NOT being able to do <a specific number> of daily living activities.First, your parents would have to meet the criteria to enter assisted living. Have to be able to do several activities of daily living (ADL's) like dressing and eating independently.
But as previously mentioned by several, at least at some facilities, one does *not* need be unable to do that.
Not by the facility, at least.
Whether an insurer might require it for cost to be covered, that's probably different and *would* be necessary.
