Have you decided yet which FEHB plan you will go with if you have no Part B or do have Part B? Different FEHB plans might work better with one or the other choice.I have until the end of this month to sign up for my initial enrollment period. I had already done my research and decided to take Part A of course and Part B and keep my FEHB as secondary....which I believe functions similarly to Medigap or Medicare Supplemental.
I was curious to look into what happens if I take Part A now and delay Part B until next year. This is the information I found:
"The penalty is an additional 10% of the standard premium for each 12-month period you could have been enrolled but weren't"
So if I understand correctly - as an example, if the Part B premium were to stay $185/month, then next year, my premium for Part B would be $185 + 10% =$203.50 /month.
If I keep Part B for forever after that, it becomes the monthly charge plus 10%? never more?
Do I understand correctly that I won't pay any additional penalties for Part B unless I accrue any further periods of non-Part B coverage?
I am not taking Part D since I have drug coverage as provided by FEHB.
