JDS Uniphase (lasers), Level 3 communications, Ballard Power Systems, and Excite stock all were delisted or became essentially worthless. Those "investments" taught me a good lesson. Don't touch the hot stove. Took another few years to find index investing.
That said, I did hold on to the AAPL & MSFT that I had bought in 1993 and have only started to sell chunks of it in the last ≈10-12 years. However the remaining shares keep growing...
