Probably not a problem. Many brands of software run these calculations in the background and don't print out lines 6 - 12. Not sure why you included line 13 though.EDIT: The 8606 preview looked good before I filed. But now that I see the actual return post-filing, it does not! It is missing lines 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 :/.
This is incorrect. The extra $4 is not an excess contribution. It is earnings that occurred before the conversion. And Form 5329 is not involved at all.Everything I've read says I should be paying an excise tax of 6% on even a $1 excess contribution. Why isn't it showing up and why does it seem I am not showing tax liability for it?
Something does seem amiss, but without knowing what is on each line of the 8606, it is not possible to guess what the problem is.
The problem may be that you reported an excess contribution when there was not excess contribution. Your contribution was $7,000 to IRA and that is not over the limit. There are no limits on conversions.
