I think if your Jura lasted only 6 weeks, it was defective. Ours hasn't been entirely trouble free, but is going to hit 20,000 cups here in the next week or two. A friend of mine had one for 15 years of daily use before it died on him. This Jura is our third super-automatic machine, and it's the first one that hasn't ever had trouble with the oily dark roasts that we like.So what does it mean when the "red bean light" goes on? Maybe the machine is broken. I recently bought a nice Jura machine, it stopped working after 6 weeks, I returned it for repair and Jura has been holding my machine hostage for the past 3 weeks. I doubt the Gaggia requires that you have to be so incredibly particular about beans, though I have heard about the oily bean problem with superautomatics.
