I have updated my Desktop computer from Windows 10 to Fedora 42, then upgraded it again to Fedora 43. That computer is working well. I have used a Gnome extension called PaperWM to get a scrolling window manager experience. So far so good.

Initially I updated my laptop to Linux Mint. I neglected to fully set up an OS backup image, that bite me when my first system update failed, and all further system updates also failed.

Now my laptop has been updated to POP OS Cosmic DE Beta. Well, my last Friday's system update also failed. Let's see if that failure persists to tomorrow.

My impression was that Fedora uses BTRFS to provide a file system snapshot rollback capability, so it is more resistant to operating system software update failure. However, Fedora is a rolling release model, with no long term support.
