I bought these "brookstone" branded socks at Costco a year or so ago. Some kind of thick knitted yarn. Meant as a sort of sock-slipper if you will, has some rubberized something on the sole to make them grip better. Sounds like basically what you are looking for, although I loathe sleeping in socks so have not tried them for that. Not really expensive either.
