Personal Consumer Issues • Affordable phone options to replace my 6 y.o. MotoG Play

This thread has turned out a success to me because I'm finding it very illuminating and educational :sharebeer .

So, after reading all the comments I am still leaning towards Moto G but I will do more research over then next few days. However, now I know that I cannot hold it for long if I buy it and should learn how to debloat.

I saw that Moto G Play 2026 was just released this month.
It doesn't have two eSIM's (nano-SIM + eSIM) but I can live with that. If/when I switch Visible, I will need to request a physical nanoSIM which they provide and then I will be able to buy an int'l eSIM when I travel.
I also learned when I googled "the Moto G Play 2026 includes NFC for wireless tap-to-pay, which is a first for the Moto G Play series."
Here are more specifications if knowledgeable BH's want to see: https://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_ ... -14139.php

This website says that security updates will end at the end of 2028 (hopefully it's true data): https://endoflife.date/motorola-mobility.
So I could keep this phone for 3-4 years.

The drawback is 64GB memory though I don't know how I survived having the 32g phone all these years. I have a microSD inserted but when checked its storage I don't see anything on it unless I don't know how to check it correctly.

I will also check prices and read more about more expensive. Maybe I should spend $250-300 instead or who knows maybe I'll relent and get a refurbished iPhone. We'll see.

Thank you!
