Check your cost basis on VWIAX. Its distributions over the past decade have roughly matched its total return, so the average share price has been flat-ish for quite a while. There aren't many instances since 2013 when you could've bought in at a share price 10% or more below the current share price. Even if you bought at the absolute trough in 2009, your cumulative price return is only about 50-60%.My question is about simplifying via transferring VWIAX to VTSAX efficiently. I suspect there's a large tax hit for transferring it all at one time but is there an advantageous way to accomplish this?
