1) It's not necessarily "absurd" (not a word I actually used; I also didn't say narcissist)
I didn't say you did. Absurd, narcissist, and red flag were in quotes because they are words used in this thread to describe the OP's husband, by several people. I disagree we have enough information to conclude these things, is all.
It's possible that CIO is a joke that doesn't land well out of context, but with the full context of what I quoted, it screams red flag.
It's also possible it is not a joke and is just a normal thing. Why would it have to be a joke? A lot of posters on bogleheads are CIOs in their marriage.
2) They show their partners a bunch of convoluted spreadsheets which are so complicated only they will get it (oddly specific dollar amounts, no sense as to whether a certain expense should be "overflow fund", "fun fund", or "all other spend fund", giving categories strange names like "Goin Coin Fund" and "CapEx fund", needing column descriptions for the categories because the names are insufficient, you could go on and on) and say "I can't believe she's not interested in talking about money!" when they shut down.
I don't know what you are talking about. Who is "they"? It's not in this thread, anyway. The OP didn't mention any spreadsheet, let alone a ones that were so convoluted she shut down. Or which caused her husband to complain about her shutting down.
