Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Does SS survivor benefit include delayed retirement credits?

Did you tell them on your application that you would like to receive your survivor benefits when you reach your FRA? If you did, you should get 100% of the benefits your wife was receiving. If you start receiving survivor benefits before FRA, your survivor benefits would be reduced.
And since I don't think anyone has stated this explicitly, you should wait until your FRA (specifically your "FRA for survivor benefits" which might be different from your regular FRA).

I am eligible as of September (paid in October), but so far I've heard nothing.
mrc, you say you were eligible in September. The eligibility age is 60. Did you actually mean that your FRA (for survivor benefits) was September?
