Personal Consumer Issues • Where Should I Travel Based on my Preferences?

OP, what have your previous travels looked like? Knowing what you’ve done helps focus our responses. Knowing if you’ve planned your own trips, used a travel agent, camped, all-inclusive vacations, etc. Based on your previous posts, the more “out-there” you go, the more all-inclusive i’d recommend for your first adventure.

Although it’s not international, Kauai checks all your boxes and may be a comfortable first step for getting out and about in the big beautiful world. Quieter, lots of hiking, waterfalls, ocean activities. Boat tours to snorkel and see the epic Napali coast.

For Norway, I think a cruise fits what you need. Closer to an all-inclusive experience to ease into international travel. It would keep the logistics simpler. Where your budget allows, smaller, more boutique ships will keep onboard crowds lower. You’ll still have other tourists at ports, but using guided excursions can help get away from big crowds hanging in the cities.
A cruise is a good way to do Scandinavia in terms of economising on the (very high) costs of food and lodging.

It also suits the Norwegian terrain (the beautiful stuff is more along the West Coast, than on the eastern side.

I think that's a pretty good idea. And the suggestion of a smaller cruise boat etc.

Norwegians are taciturn to the point of seeming unfriendly, but lovely people w a very dry sense of humour.
