Personal Consumer Issues • Uber "booking fee" -- what is typical?

I use Uber sparingly, but needed a short ride (1 mile) last night. The booking fee (about $7) was more than the driver's fee (about $6). Is this typical? Would the booking fee still be $7 if I were requesting a longer drive?

I don’t think the drive length was the determining factor.

I have an Uber fare for $4.05 and a booking fee of $0.72.

My booking fees are usually less than a dollar.

Did you use Uber Reserve, Uber Black or live in a city with high regulations (like NY)? Or all of those????
