I know... I think I finally got a long enough stint of "after" on the resume that it won't be any issue in the future. That was my goal: to get to an always employable by anyone at all times spot. It took me a bit to figure out, but you just have to make it feel like they're getting a deal without being a jerk about it (like the job is something you actually want for other than normal reasons, rather than something beneath you that you're settling for in an extremely noncommittal way), and then deliver on just a bit more than they're paying for (because it's not like that's hard).I am getting a feeling that the employers don’t want to offer junior level jobs as they feel you won’t stick around. Why don't you just find a job that pays $50k a year until your wife realizes you can both retire? And then do that then.
Naw. That's not an age thing. The 25-year old boss I had was the very best one ever. Didn't even try to make people do anything or power trip them at all - you just did it because you wanted to since it was the best thing for you and everyone. If only we could clone him and make him in charge of everything everywhere.Let alone the difficulty to adjust to a 30 year old bossing you around .
