FSMAX is not an emerging market fund. It's an small and mid cap US stock fund. Perhaps you have the ticker incorrect.Fidelity total stock (FSKAX): 600k
Fidelity emerging market (FSMAX): 220k
Wellesley: 270k
Nonetheless, I would recommend no overweighting sectors and simply investing in a total stock market fund. I'd add an international fund like FZILX. I would invest at approximately the world cap on international stock... 30% of your total equity allocation. This would be across your entire portfolio.
There is no significant difference investing the same total amount of money in your 401k over one year or spread it over two years... unless one of those options puts you in a higher marginal tax bracket. But even that is minor since you worse you were "squarely in the 22% bracket".In 2026 I am considering contributing anywhere from to 6 to 13% of a 130k salary. Mainly to build up taxable accounts and gear up to be in a position to max the 401k and do a catchup contribution in 2027 when I turn 50.
I'd invest in your 401k when you have the money to invest in it.
