The ability to enter preferred shares symbols seems to have been broken in testfol.io when they changed data vendors in late 2024.This notation doesn't seem to work any more. Does anybody know how to currently enter preferred share symbols in testfol.io? I tried every combination that I could think of.
What an eternal confusion. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for the exchanges to finally standardize this at some point.
testfol.io says that their data source is Tiingo. If you look at the Tiingo documentation, their format for preferred shares is {TICKER}-P-{SHARE CLASS}. Unfortunately this format still does not work with testfol.io. However, if you go to the Tiingo app https://app.tiingo.com/ and enter NXDT-P-A as a symbol you do get a quote. So that verifies the correct symbol syntax to use with their stated data source Tiingo.
FWIW, I filed a bug report with testfol.io on this issue. I'll reply back if I hear anything.
