My advice would be to sort through all that stuff up in the attic to determine what is really worth saving and find other places for it. Then once the attic is empty, fold up the stairs and never extend them again. It it truly is important, why is it being stored in an attic above a garage?thank you in advance for any ideas.
I have personally helped sort through the remains of a half dozen houses of now deceased relatives in the last handful of years. 99% of what people hang onto because they think it might be valuable to someone else isn't.
