I understand the feeling. However, here are some potential downsides and barriers to at least consider before talking:I'm surprised by most of these responses. I don't get the reluctance to talk about money. Given how poorly educated most people are about money (myself included but ever improving) you'd think any time you could about money and investing would be a good time.
- You have no standing or credentials and therefore no more credibility than the stock picker or market timer
- It’s easy to appear arrogant or egotistical
- Things can get weird between people if they learn there is a big difference in their wealth or income
- People can be financially ruined by acting on your advice. It’s not like recommending a restaurant or even what car to buy, where the worst case scenario isn’t that bad.
