I recently moved from one state to another state and I hired a well-known moving company. The moving company packed me and moved all of my belongings to the new state. I am currently unpacking and yesterday I discovered that a bin / tub that I had my tax returns in was opened and all of my tax return envelopes which were sealed were opened. Today I’m going to go and look in each of the envelopes to see if I can determine if anything is missing. The 1040 forms may be missing. What should I do? I’m concerned about identity theft. Should I contact my brokerage companies and banks and ask for new account numbers? I have credit freezes in place with all 3 credit bureaus. Please provide suggestions.
