Interesting table. If I am reading that correctly, table B2 says for age 65+ the median pretax income is 56680 (for 2024). I didn't see a Mean rather than a median.) But even that seems low. Yes, we are lucky to have each worked a job that provided what I consider a very modest pension, which totals just under 53k currently. It would seem those estimates suggest the median of retirees seem to have no pension. And even at 85% of SS being taxable, our combined SS adds another 66k taxable. If we had no conversions, we'd still be looking at getting the full 12k additional senior deduction plus the 35,500 regular standard deduction for 2026. Maybe we're doing a bit better than I thought. LOL
