It sounds like one could be stuck with a rate increase until their next birthday. It could be a problem if the usual rate increase date is shortly after one's birthday. The other way around would be preferred.
I’m not aware of any rate changes occurring apart from a birthday for an individual.

I'm on a United American HD-G plan. Rate increases take place twice a year: in June, when the state approved claims-based base rate increase takes place, and on my birth date, when the attained age rate increase takes place.
