Why are you doing this?
I wondered this too.

The only thing I can think of is the OP didn't own VTSAX, VTIAX or VBTLX because if the OP did, Vanguard (if held there) would have converted those tax free for VTI, VXUS, BND.

I also hope the OP wasn't sellling $700k in a taxable account, depending on the amount of capital gains.
In an earlier thread a few weeks ago, I did a Portfolio Review, with the intent to rebalance and to change over from mutual funds to EFTs. Two IRAs st Fidelity and two Roth IRAs at Vanguard (mine and husband's), so tax was not an issue.

My first step was to convert VFAIX to VOO in both Vanguard Roths (VOO was the only option for conversion). And then I had the Roths transferred to Fidelity.

Last week was the week I planned to sell the Fidelilty IRA mutual funds and buy into EFTs. However, I only like to place mutual funds sell orders at the end of the day (hence my wanting to be in EfTs), and I forgot to do it on the days I planned to do it, but I remembered on Friday. Normally I wouldn't get out of the market on a Friday but since the market was high, I took the chance.
