Investing - Theory, News & General • PIMIX vs BND

Fantastic fund. One of the very best bond funds around. I like actively deviating from BND in the bond space. In fact, I think BND is a generally weak bond holding for a multitude of reasons I won’t get into.

PIMIX is an extremely diverse and well managed fund, reasonable fees, etc.

The only thing to keep in mind here is you do have some credit risk in the fund so if markets get really scary (like 2008 or 2020) you might experience some negative volatility that makes you question you bond allocation. It’s not a zero duration instrument and is still in the tail end of a fairly long real return drawdown (like almost all bonds).
