Personal Investments • APMEX Portfolio: Help me understand

$

Some time ago, I took some spare cash and invested it into gold and silver through APMEX. At this time, I set up a portfolio tracker on their website.

Hypothetically speaking: I invested $20,000; $10,000 in gold eagles and $10,000 in silver eagles.

Question No. 1: Based on the above dollar amounts, my Total Asset Acquisition Cost would be $20,000 correct?

Let's say after 6 months, due to the rising cost per ounce, the Total Asset Current Value is $30,000.

Question No. 2: Why would my Total Asset Acquisition Cost (as displayed in my portfolio tracker) move up as the Total Asset Current Value rises?

Regardless of how the invest performs, my acquisition cost (initial investment amount) should never change. What am I missing?
