We had our acquisition in 1999 and I put my money in Fidelity PAS. This seemed well and good until the double whammy of me noticing that they were taking 1% of my assets every year for AUM, and the dot-com bust started happening, so my asset balance was going down. I started complaining to my Fidelity manager, and he actually suggested that I check out the efficientfrontier.com website! I did this and it drew me in to read The Four Pillars of Investing by Bill Bernstein. This info seemed to be suggesting that I remove all of my assets from Fidelity, move them to Vanguard and buy a 3 fund portfolio. Which I did in about 2003. What a great decision.
That didn't exactly the question of how I found bogleheads, but I think I was researching investing the whole time and came across it. I was lurking here for many years (and still am) but now I post from time to time.
