I'm sure that's part of it. However, Vanguard is not a bank. They aren't part of the ACH network. Your Vanguard account number isn't going to work with an ACH push.I assume that's a matter of choice by the bank. They're able to ACH to other brokerages, but they choose not to. My bank allows only 2.5k/push and a maximum push of 5k/month, but I can have VG pull as much as I want and as often as I want from that same bank.I'm still gobsmacked by the fact that this bank can only ACH to about 10 brokerages. What's up with that?
You can specifically enable direct deposit, but that winds up assigning you different Chase account number. I'm not even sure if it can accept general bank transfers. It may be limited to direct deposit only.
