A few weeks ago I deposited a $50 EE Savings bond from 1993 issued to my wife (while a minor). It had her right SSN but her name was spelled wrong (and her maiden name of course). It was no problem and our small regional bank depsoited into our checking account since my wife's SSN was on the account. My wife didn't even have to go to the bank!
