Investing - Theory, News & General • International (Non-US) versus US Equities (The "Arguments")

Given how polarizing this topic is, the thread has gone through several waves of calls to have it locked — often from participants who didn’t want the opposing view continually resurfacing.

To their credit, the moderators chose to keep it open, likely recognizing that the discussion would simply reappear in a new thread if closed. This is one of those subjects that isn’t going away.

Each time a thread gets locked, the conversation effectively resets and the same arguments have to be re-introduced over and over again, which doesn’t really move the discussion forward.

P.S. Many of the early calls to lock the thread seemed to come from posters strongly tilted toward U.S. equities. I’m curious whether that’s also where you currently land on the core question being discussed here?
My problem is not that I dislike the list of reasons being generated or that I don't want to hear opposing viewpoints. It's more that the discussion has run its course, and most of what is left is low signal and/or petty. That's always gotten other topics locked.

To satisfy your curiosity, I currently land at 65/35 in domestic/international in my equities.
