I appreciate your opinion on this! The reason I actually posed the question here was that after I'd already decided that the differences were probably too small to matter, someone specifically made a comment on another forum about 5mm being enough to make a difference, in terms of pothole protection. I can actually feel the subtle difference in ride quality without much difficulty, but my real question here is only about whether or not that extra 5mm makes a tire and/or wheel more likely to survive a bad pothole strike? Obviously, a pothole that's bad enough could destroy a lot of wheels and tires, so even a 10mm difference or more might not matter for some of those!You're talking about less than 5% changes in width, sidewall, and clearance. IMO not enough to make a difference.
