Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Purchasing a New Car with Cash?

I have said this before and I’ll say it again. Leasing is the most honest way of owning a car. It forces you to confront the true cost of ownership every month.

When you own a car with cash, make no mistake, you are experiencing the same cost of ownership, it’s just hidden from view
I understand what you are trying to say, and I also don't agree with your general premise...but even if I did, it would only be true for a leasing agreement in which there was no upfront payment other than the payment for the first month...no down payment and all taxes/fees would need to be amortized over the lease term. Some lease agreements are like that, but most aren't and presumably would also be considered "dishonest" reflections of monthly cost?
