Most Bogleheads are very interested in investing. I find that the majority of the general public are not. They might instead hire a financial advisor or just wing it. However, even if you have an advisor, you can't completely let go of the rein. You have to guide the advisor toward your goal and also monitor them to ensure that they are doing their part and is not scamming you.

- Living below your means and save some of your income.
- How compounding works
- How stocks and bonds work at a higher level and their short and long term behavior.
